MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the NHK broadcaster, the users were not able to visit the website after a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack or the first time in the history of the department.
The news outlet added that no information had been leaked or changed during the DDoS attack.
The issue of cybersecurity has become topical around the world in recent years due to the growing number of cyberattacks. According to Japanese media, the number of cyberattacks against the targets in the Asian country had more than doubled in 2016 if to compare with 2015 and reached 128 billion.
