    A group of 10 armed men attacked the Nabha Central Jail in India's Punjab on Sunday and made a getaway of at least five convicts, local media reported.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) According to the NDTV broadcaster, a group of attackers wearing police uniform broke into the jail on Saturday morning.

    A total of five criminals, including Harminder Singh Mintoo, the leader of the Khalistan Liberation Force group, struggling to create an independent state in Punjab and outlawed by New Delhi, succeeded to escape following the raid, the media outlet added.

    The broadcaster added that the investigation was in progress and the state of Punjab was on high alert.
