Indian President Pranab Mukherjee says India will boost its cooperation with France in fighting terrorism following the attack in Nice.

NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – India will boost its cooperation with France in fighting terrorism, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee said Friday following the attack in Nice.

"India stands shoulder to shoulder with the people and Government of France as it responds to this attack… We will strengthen our cooperation with France and other countries in the fight against terrorism," Mukherjee said on his Twitter account.

The deadly attack occurred on Promenade des Anglais in Nice on Thursday night, when a white truck rammed into a large crowd of people that was celebrating Bastille Day and watching fireworks.

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said that 80 people, including children, were killed in the attack. Dozens of others were injured and 18 of the wounded are in grave condition, according to Cazeneuve.
