The Afghan authorities summoned on Tuesday Pakistani Ambassador to the country Syed Abrar Hussain over the Torkham border incident, Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Nasir Ahmad Andisha said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Afghan Foreign Ministry, on June 12, Pakistani troops built military installations at the Torkham border crossing in violation of bilateral agreements and opened fire, as the Afghan army engaged.

"Afghanistan’s National Security and Defense Forces retaliated in order to protect their territorial integrity and defend their people," Andisha said during the meeting, calling for diplomatic settlement of border issues.

One Afghan border guard died and another six were injured in the skirmish.
