Game of Thorns: Two Years of Modi Mania

Although Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has taken a hands-on approach to improving the country's foreign policy, Indians remain concerned about its ability to solve many of the country's other problems.

NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — Ever since Modi came to power two years ago, his government has been in action. Modi made foreign policy his priority since the beginning. As a result the government made rapid strides on the diplomatic and strategic front. Modi has made Indian Foreign Policy more robust and vibrant, having visited 29 countries while in office.

​Regarding internal security and home affairs, the performance of the Modi government is comparable to that of the previous government. The threat of terrorism and extremism continues to cast a shadow over matters of security.

​On the education front, the present government is trying to adopt a broad-based approach but there have been some instances where the government must face the wrath of students and the country's intelligentsia.

​Some of the Modi government's widely touted plans, such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Program) have grabbed worldwide attention. A $1.5bn World Bank loan was approved last year for India's campaign to improve sanitation in the country.
