MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the airline’s statement, all 120 passengers and 8 crew members were safely disembarked from the plane after the successful emergency landing.
"Jet Airways flight 9W 354 on landing in Mumbai reported a technical fault with the main landing gear," Jet Airways, an Indian Mumbai-based airline, said on Thursday.
"We wish to clarify that there was no fire in any part of the aircraft," Jet Airways said.
The Mid Day newspaper said on Thursday citing airport officers that the aircraft’s right wing was completely damaged because of the right tire burst. According to the newspaper, the plane also had an oil leak.
Flights suffered delays of up to 30 minutes because of the incident, Jet Airways wrote on Twitter. About four hours later, the airline tweeted that all of its flights to and from Mumbai were operating as scheduled.
