MOSCOW (Sputnik) – At least one security guard has been killed at a northern Pakistan university as a gunfire exchange ensued between police and at least four gunmen, national media reported Wednesday.
"Unconfirmed reports claim that at least one security guard has been killed in the attack so far," the Daily Pakistan publication said, adding that initial reports say at least four gunmen have entered the Bacha Khan University premises.
It cited eyewitnesses as saying at least five people, in addition to two security guards, have been hospitalized in the attack in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region commonly known as the Frontier.
Up to two explosions were heard inside the university, officials said, as the Pakistan’s army quick response team and police exchanged fire with the gunmen.
