Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that incumbent Indian cabinet was able to restore the voters’ trust to authorities.

NEW DELHI (Sputnik) The incumbent Indian cabinet was able to restore the voters’ trust to authorities, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said during his press conference on Saturday in Delhi after the completion of one year of the National Democratic Alliance's government.

“Our government has restored the credibility, dignity and status of the prime minister's office,” Jaitley said.

He added that no decision had been taken by the current cabinet to benefit a particular individual or corporate houses.

“Corruption has been replaced by a transparent governance. Now the crony capitalism has been replaced by a liberal policy based governance,” the minister stressed.

Among the most important achievements of the National Democratic Alliance, Arun Jaitley also highlighted replacing the “policy paralysis” by quick decision making and successful foreign policy.

The National Democratic Alliance, a coalition of political parties led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), formed a government in 2014 following its sweeping victory at the Indian general election.

Its leader Narendra Modi was inaugurated as India’s Prime Minister on May 26, 2014.
