South Korea to Introduce School Courses on WWII Sex Enslavement

The South Korean government is planning to include into its history courses on Japan's sexual enslavement of Asian women during WWII, to improve the knowledge of important historic facts among young students, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The new relevant course books are expected to be used on all levels of school education, namely, in elementary, middle and high schools.

The country’s authorities are planning to introduce detailed descriptions of the nature of sex slavery and pay more attention to the issue of human rights violations.

According to historic experts, 200,000 people were forced by Japan in to sex slavery during WWII, most of whom are believed to be of Korean origin.
