MOSCOW, November 3 (RIA Novosti) – British banker Rurik Jutting has been charged with two counts of murder after police found naked corpses of two women in his Hong Kong apartment, located in the Wan Chai district, the South China Morning Post reported Monday.
One of the bodies was found in Jutting's living room, while the other one was discovered wrapped in a carpet inside a black suitcase on the balcony. "We believe the [second] woman had been dead for quite some time," Wan Siu-hung, Wan Chai assistant district commander for crime, told the South China Morning Post.
Jutting appeared before court on Monday but declined to enter a plea on the murder charges, according to the South China Morning Post.
The 29-year-old British citizen, employed by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, was arrested on Saturday.
Police are now searching for more information on the background of the dead women, with initial assessments suggesting that they were sex workers, according to the South China Morning Post.
