Over the past few days, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have launched hundreds of rockets against militant facilities in Gaza in response to rocket fire from Hamas.

Sputnik comes live from Jerusalem, Israel, where people are flocking to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office to show their support for the Israeli Defense Forces' actions in the recent escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Violent clashes broke out from 7 to 10 May between Palestinians and Israeli police, leading to some of the most devastating attacks in recent years. The situation on the border between Israel and Palestine's Gaza Strip has been deteriorating for the past week amid a heavy exchange of rocket fire.
