The Israel Defence Forces and Hamas militants have exchanged fire over the past few days, following violent clashes in Jerusalem. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 35 Palestinians (including 12 children) have died since the start of the hostilities, while 233 were injured. Israel has confirmed 5 fatalities.

Sputnik is live from the Gaza Strip, as tensions between Palestinians and Israelis are on the rise, with multiple clashes occurring between the IDF and Hamas.

In the meantime, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are going to pay a "high price" for the recent attacks.
