The German capital has been hit by a heatwave that has caused temperatures in the city to soar to 32 Celsius, or 89.6 Fahrenheit. Berlin is also emerging from coronavirus-related restrictions, as the city’s authorities have moved to scrap a few of the remaining restrictions.

Sputnik welcomes you to Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin as the German capital is sizzling in heat that also coincides with the easing of a number of restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

Citizens are now allowed to gather in public places in unlimited numbers - previously, only up to five people from different households were authorised to meet together.

However, Berliners are still required to wear face protection in public transport. According to the WHO, Germany had 192,556 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 11:25 a.m. CEST.
