08:02 GMT 06.06.2019 (Updated: 08:48 GMT 06.06.2019) The former president of France arrived in the Russian city to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which will run from Thursday to Saturday. The forum includes delegations from nearly all EU countries, as well as other states from around the globe.
The ex-head of the French state was spotted jogging in a Saint Petersburg park on Thursday. The footage shows Nicolas Sarkozy waving at a man who greeted him while continuing his daily routine at the park.
Over the past two decades, SPIEF, which has been held since 1997, has become one of the leading global platforms to discuss global economic issues. Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency is an official media partner of the SPIEF forum.
