The mass demonstrations across France continue for a 29th consecutive week, with thousands of people hitting the streets to protest against the government.

Around 2,600 people are participating in yellow vest protests on 1 June throughout France, French BFMTV broadcaster reported, citing the French Interior Ministry.

According to the ministry, as cited by French BFMTV broadcaster, as of 2:00 p.m. (12:00 GMT), 1,300 yellow vest protesters are marching through Paris.

The protestors in Paris gathered at Denfert-Rochereau square and are heading to the Place de la Nation.

The yellow vests rallies initially began in France in November 2018 after President Emmanuel Macron's government announced hikes in fuel taxes. The reform was later scrapped, however, protesters continued to gather for rallies across France every weekend to express their discontent with the current policies.
