Russia regards as relevant Thailand’s initiative to open a Southeast Asian cybersecurity hub in Bangkok and would cooperate with it, the Russian foreign minister said Thursday.

BANGKOK (Sputnik) — The Russian foreign policy chief was speaking in the Thai capital after holding talks with Thailand’s Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai. A meeting with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will take place later today.

"Thailand has told us about its plans, the prime minister’s initiative to host a cybersecurity center for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. We think this initiative is important, relevant and Russian [cybersecurity] institutions will be interested in establishing contacts with it," Sergey Lavrov said.
