The news outlet added that there was no official statement made after the meeting.

Syria has been hit by the civil war for more than six years, after the protests within the framework of the so-called Arab Spring turned violent. The international community, including Turkey, has been making efforts to de-escalate the tensions between the warring parties. The conflict has also resulted in an outflow of refugees from Syria, while Turkey became the host nation for more than 3 million people, who fled the war-torn state, according to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
