MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The outlet did not specify the sum of the compensation. According to other media report, the deal on the compensation between the federal government and the Hamburg authorities would be signed soon.

During the two-day run of the G20 summit last week, Hamburg faced clashes between activists and police, which used pepper spray and water cannons to disperse the crowd. Some protesters torched cars, threw Molotov cocktails and stones at the policemen and looted shops. Around 500 policemen were injured during the clashes with protesters. Some 230 people were taken onto custody and almost 190 arrested, according to the police data.
