The German police have detained one more suspect in the Berlin truck ramming attack, the Bild newspaper reported on Wednesday, a day after the first suspect was released over lack of evidence.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — However, the actual perpetrator of the attack is still at large, according to the Bild newspaper.

On Monday, a truck rammed into the crowd at a Berlin Christmas market on the Breitscheidplatz square, killing 12 people and injuring 49 more. The country's interior ministry has labeled the incident a terrorist attack.

On Tuesday, the German Federal Prosecution said that a 23-year-old Pakistani man detained following the Berlin truck attack was released due to no evidence proving his links to the attack.
