Turkish police secure the area near an art gallery where the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov was shot in Ankara, Turkey, December 19, 2016 - Sputnik International

Turkey and Russia will be able to find those complicit in the murder of Russian ambassador Andrey Karlov, all the perpetrators will be punished, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Karlov was shot by a gunman at an art gallery exhibition opening in Ankara late on Monday. Three other people were also injured in the attack. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the incident an act of terrorism.

"We must find out who is behind this vile, cowardly crime and I’m sure we shall be able to do this with joint efforts … We shall do everything possible to find out all circumstances of this crime and expose the responsible. Those who committed this crime against Mr Karlov will be punished," Cavusoglu said at at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
