The Russian Foreign Ministry is ready to provide the necessary assistance to a Russian teenager accused of killing his adoptive parents in the United States, Russian Foreign Ministry Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov on Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier this month, US media reported that 17-year-old Carl Brewer, who was allegedly adopted from Russia, killed his adoptive parents Troy Gene Brewer, 60, and Mary Sheldon Brewer, 64, in Crowley, Texas.

"We follow this situation, both our embassy and our consulate in Texas are tasking themselves with it … As far as I’m aware, we provide assistance in picking a lawyer … There is a schedule of court proceedings, hearings and our staff will continue to follow it. If he [needs] any help, consular or legal, of course we shall provide assistance," Dolgov told RIA Novosti.
