59 Colombia Plane Crash Victims Identified, Authorities Say

The bodies of 59 people killed in the crash of the plane that was carrying the Brazilian Chapecoense Real football team have been identified, Colombian National Director of Legal Medicine Carlos Eduardo Valdes said.

Colombia Holds Ceremony in Commemoration of Killed Football Players
MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – Fifty two of those identified were Brazilians, five were Bolivian nationals, one was Paraguayan and one was Venezuelan, Valdes said as cited by El Pais on Wednesday.

A plane operated by the Lamia Corporation airline was carrying 81 people including the Chapecoense Real team when it crashed on Tuesday in northwestern Colombia. Only three players from the team survived the crash.

A ceremony in commemoration with the killed members of the team was held in Colombia’s Medellin on Wednesday. The city is where Chapecoense Real was supposed to play against Atletico Nacional on Wednesday.
