WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Bedingfield stated on Tuesday that Biden "is not interested in being DNC chair, but he intends to remain deeply involved in helping shape the direction the Democratic Party is moving forward."
During 2016 US presidential race, Biden noted that he had no plans to serve in the new administration, even if Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton wins.
Biden reaffirmed that stance after Donald Trump won the presidential election on November 8, and said he would focus on helping cancer research efforts.
The election for the DNC chair is set for the spring of 2017.
