Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu's report to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the start of the Russian Armed Forces' major operation in Syria did not include the Syrian city of Aleppo, it touched upon Homs and Idlib, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier Tuesday, at a presidential meeting with top defense officials, Shoigu told Putin that the Admiral Grigorovich-class frigate had fired Kalibr cruise missiles on terrorist targets in Syria in the provinces of Idlib and Homs.

"Discussion of this topic and other topics continues. The meeting in Sochi continues. The defense minister's report, as you heard, did not mention Aleppo. It mentioned Kalibr strikes and airstrikes on other areas, namely Homs and Idlib," Peskov said when asked whether Russia's operation to help Syria's army in Aleppo resumed.
