The Russian reconciliation center in Syria said it had delivered more than seven metric tons (7.7 US tons) of humanitarian aid to civilians in the country within the framework of six humanitarian operations in the last 24 hours.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The ongoing violence in Syria has caused a large-scale humanitarian crisis and claimed the lives of thousands of people and displaced millions more. The international community, including the United Nations, has undertaken steps to end the Syrian conflict and to improve the humanitarian situation in the Middle Eastern country.

"Six humanitarian events have been held within last 24 hours: citizens of Bshavi (Hama province) have received 1.5 tons of humanitarian cargos; in Seida Zeinab (Damascus province) – three tons; in Amar Khali school (Latakia city) – 2.5 tons; in hospitals of a university and military police (Aleppo city) – 400 kg humanitarian cargos," the center said in its Friday bulletin released by the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the statement, posts with hot meals and items of first necessity for civilians fleeing Aleppo are continuing their operations.
