The photo of the president was taken back during the presidential campaign days. Despite the fact that the article by El Debate was hastily removed, the editorial blunder quickly spread on social networks.

According to Sputnik Spain, the photograph was taken before the presidential election back in 2015. In it Macri is hugging a little girl. The editors blurred the faces of both the people and next to it they wrote the title “Man rapes his daughter and later as revenge his granddaughter.”
Even though the news article has been removed from the site, its cached Google version has remained.

“Her father threatened her not to give him up,” the statement under the photo read.
The Argentine media spoke out about the inaccuracy of the Mexican newspaper and pointed to the origin of the image by comparing it to the original version.
Back when the election campaign for the Argentine President was taking place, there was an ongoing heated debate and criticism against him. There were numerous articles and even videos taking jabs at the presidential candidate.
In one video, Macri was described talking to Sheila, a girl who was selling roses she had planted in order to buy a bicycle. The video was highly criticized due to the fact that many felt it showed child labor.
