Two passenger trains collided on Monday in South Africa leaving at least one person killed and from 150 to 200 people injured, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The incident took place on the rail split near the Kaalfontein Station in the central Gauteng Province, the eNCA media outlet reported.

The injured people were sent to the Tembisa hospital as well as other nearby medical facilities.

The emergency services said that it would take at least a day to clear the site from debris.
