UN Secretary-General Arrives in Haiti Depleted by Hurricane Matthew

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Haiti that was devastated by the hurricane Matthew and said that the United Nations would help the country to fight the cholera outbreak.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Ban also called on the international community to support Haitian people.

​He also said that the organization was making efforts to fight the cholera outbreak in the country.

​On October 4, Hurricane Matthew tore through Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. At least 473 people died and nearly 1.5 million remain in need of humanitarian assistance in Haiti, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
