Airstrike Kills 9 Daesh Militants in Eastern Afghanistan

An air strike resulted in the death of nine Daesh militants in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, local media reported Saturday citing local security officials.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Militants were killed along with their vehicle on Friday but the officials did not elaborate if the attack was carried out by the Afghan Air Force or the US Air Force, Khaama news agency reported.

Afghanistan is in a state of political and social turmoil, with government forces fighting the continuing Taliban insurgency, while the Islamic State terror group, outlawed in Russia, has also expanded its activities in the country.
