Russian Foreign Ministry to Summon Dutch Ambassador Over MH17 Probe Report
19:13 GMT 30.09.2016 (Updated: 19:28 GMT 30.09.2016) The Russian Foreign Ministry will summon on October 3 Dutch Ambassador in Moscow Renée Jones-Bos to present additional reasoning behind Russia's refusal to accept the findings of a Dutch-led probe into the crash of the Malaysian Flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine in 2014, spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Friday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A preliminary report released by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on Wednesday claimed that the Malaysian Boeing passenger plane was downed by a missile fired from a Buk launcher, which had been brought from Russia and located in southeastern Ukrainian territory held by the local militias.
30 September 2016, 15:03 GMT
Moscow immediately rejected the findings, calling the report “biased and politically motivated."
"The head of the Dutch diplomatic mission will be given reasons justifying Russia's outrage over the fact that important information provided by the Russian side is being ignored," Zakharova said in a statement.
According to Zakharova,"it undermines cooperation of Russian experts with the investigation and discredits the efforts aimed at finding the real cause of the tragedy and at punishing those responsible in line with UNSC Resolution 2166."
