The phones were available only to those who had pre-ordered online, with none stocked for same-day purchase. Those who did not order in advance will have the ability to make an in-store purchase beginning Saturday, September 17.

The new iPhone has an improved camera, stereo speakers, and, controversially, lacks a headphone jack, an issue that’s been off-putting to many. Those wanting to use normal headphones while charging their phone will no longer have that option, as a converter will need to be plugged into the charging port. The company is pushing Apple-brand wireless headphones instead.
