‘Pay For Play’? Clinton Foundation Finds Itself Amid Fresh Email Scandal
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — After a Clinton victory in November’s election, "CHAI would become an organization completely independent of the Clinton Foundation," the release stated.

Severing ties would mean changes in the health organization’s management and structure. All five members of CHAI’s current board, including former president Bill Clinton and the Clintons’ daughter, Chelsea, would resign, and the surname "Clinton" would be removed from CHAI’s official name, according to the release.

"Five new independent Board members will be selected by the remaining Board members as quickly as possible," it added.

In 2002, Bill Clinton established CHAI as a nonprofit organization to help make AIDS drugs available to people worldwide. The organization operates from offices in New York City and the US state of Arkansas, where Bill Clinton once served as governor.

The Clinton Foundation has been criticized for potential conflicts of interest between its charitable work globally and Hillary Clinton’s service as US secretary of state. The Foundation has raised an estimated $2 billion from companies, political donors, and foreign governments since its founding in 2001.
