‘Neurotoxin’: Floridians Freaked Out by Zika Mosquito Poison Spraying
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US state of Florida has identified 19 new Zika virus cases in the state, including six local infections, the Florida Department of Health said in a press release.

"There are 13 new travel-related cases today including eight in Miami-Dade, one in Escambia, one in Hillsborough, one in Manatee, one in Monroe and one in Seminole," the release stated on Tuesday. "There are six new non-travel related cases today."

Of the six local cases, four are associated with the ongoing active transmission in Miami Beach, the release explained.

One individual was identified in the Wynwood area and experienced Zika symptoms in early August. The Health Department announced the case on Tuesday following lab results confirming the infection.

The final case is a Miami-Dade resident, and the Department of Health is working to identify where the infection occurred, the release noted.

The total number of non-travel related Zika cases in Florida is now up to 70. Florida is still the only state in the continental United States with cases of non-travel acquired Zika.
