ANKARA (Sputnik) — A total of four targets were destroyed by 14 strikes on Thursday, bringing up the strike count to 1,125, according to a statement issued by the Turkish military.
The statement was vague on whether the assets belonged to Daesh jihadist group or local Kurdish forces. Ankara considers Syrian Kurds’ YPG militia an ally of the domestically-outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
On August 24, Turkey announced that its troops launched an operation to clear a northern Syrian city of Jarabulus of Daesh militants with air support from the US-led coalition. Syrian Kurds and Damascus both accused Ankara of violating the country’s territorial integrity.
