MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is in talks with key International Syria Support Group (ISSG) members on how to address a lack of medical services in besieged and war-hit Syrian areas, the group’s field communications manager for Russia told Sputnik on Thursday.

"MSF is in discussion with the senior partners of the International Syria Support Group, including Russia and the USA, to highlight the severity of the lack of adequate medical services in besieged and acutely war-affected areas of Syria," Elsa Vidal said.

Earlier this week, the international medical charity had a meeting with Russian authorities on how to alleviate the crisis in the divided Aleppo city in northern Syria, Vidal added.

MSF has been urging the warring parties in Syria to avoid indiscriminate attacks on hospitals and allow access to medical care for those who need it, including safe medical evacuations for patients in critical condition.
