The defense ministries of several countries have expressed interest in delivering humanitarian aid to Aleppo, according to Moscow.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The defense ministries of several countries have voiced specific suggestions on providing the residents of Syria's Aleppo with humanitarian aid, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.

"In addition to an interest from international humanitarian organizations, the Russian Defense Ministry has already received specific proposals from the defense departments of several countries seeking to take part in providing help to the residents of Aleppo," the ministry said in a statement.

US-Backed 'Moderate Rebels' Launched Toxic Gas Attack in Aleppo August 2
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with government forces loyal to President Bashar Assad fighting numerous opposition factions and extremist groups. A US-Russia-brokered ceasefire came into force across Syria on February 27. It does not apply to terrorist groups such as Daesh and Jabhat Fatah al Sham (al-Nusra Front), both outlawed in many countries, including Russia.

Aleppo is partially controlled by al-Nusra Front. Moscow and Damascus have launched a large-scale humanitarian operation and opened escape routes for civilians and militants wishing to lay down arms.
