An explosion has occurred on a gas pipeline in southern Iran, killing at least one person and injuring three others, local media report.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The injured have been taken to the hospital, one of them is in critical condition, according to the Iranian Mehr news agency.

Emergency services are working at the site of the explosion, which occurred near the city of Genaveh.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
