Despite the elevated terror threat level across Europe, Finland is still not the primary target of the terrorists, Communications Director for the Finnish Interior Ministry Mika Makinen told Sputnik Friday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — He said that the threat level is constantly being analyzed, but has not been increased following last night events in Nice.
"The threat in Europe currently is high and the situation in Finland has also been changed, however, Finland is not the primary target of any terrorist organization as far as we know it," Makinen said.
"We cannot say that last night events in France would have an indication on the Finnish security situation, but on overall situation, the threat level in Finland has also risen from 2014 until 20015, but Finland is still not the primary target of any terrorist group as far as we know it," he said.
On Thursday night, a truck rammed into a large crowd that was celebrating the Bastille Day in Nice, France. At least 84 people, including children, were killed and dozens of others were injured.
