Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s lead over her Republican rival Donald Trump has shrunk after a week of controversy over the FBI investigation into her email use while secretary of state, a new poll revealed on Tuesday.

Most Americans Think Hillary Clinton Should Have Been Charged

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Clinton is currently leading Trump 47-44 percent, according to the latest NBC News/Survey Monkey poll. In the same poll last week, Clinton had a five-point lead over the real estate mogul.

However, the poll noted that the FBI’s conclusion not to recommend charges against Clinton for what FBI Director James Comey called "extremely careless" behavior in handling classified information did not significantly impact Clinton’s favorability ratings.

This survey has a margin of error of 1.4 percent.
