LONDON (Sputnik) — Twelve ministers of the UK Labour’s shadow cabinet resigned on Sunday and five more — the following day, in a mass walkout that was triggered by Corbyn’s decision to sack Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn.
Emily Thornberry will take over Benn's post.
Diane Abbott was appointed shadow health secretary while Pat Glass takes over the position of shadow education secretary. Andy McDonald was named shadow transport secretary and Clive Lewis — shadow defence secretary.
Other nominations include Rebecca Long-Bailey, Kate Osamor, Rachel Maskell, Cat Smith, and Dave Anderson.
