The effervescent Indian Twitterati has been known to rip apart celebrities left, right and center. And this time around, it’s one of its favorite victims, as Rahul Gandhi has come under fire yet again.

What's in a Name? No More 'Gandhi' Roads and Airports in India?
The northern Indian state of Punjab has been in the limelight for to multiple reasons. To be specific, the states drug culture was recently portrayed in the recent movie Udta Punjab and is now causing controversary.

Rahul Gandhi, the heir apparent of the Gandhi family and vice president of the opposition Congress party, waded into politically muddled waters as Punjab braces for assembly elections in the coming months.

In a stinging speech, the Gandhi scion declared: “The government here encourages the drug trade because it benefits from it. We can solve the problem in one month if we are voted to power.”

He was speaking at a public protest arranged by the opposition party.

However, Twitter was unable to swallow the words of Gandhi and decided to go for the kill.
