MOSCOW (Sputnik) – US singer Christina Grimmie died from injuries on Saturday after being shot at a concert venue in the US state of Florida where she had performed, local police said.
“With deep regret, we have confirmed Christina Grimmie, @TheRealGrimmie has died from her injuries,” the Orlando police said on Twitter.
Grimmie was signing autographs after her performance at an Orlando venue when a man with a gun attacked her. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died, according to the police.
According to police, the shooter later killed himself. An investigation is reportedly ongoing.
The 22-year-old singer became famous after taking part in the NBC’s The Voice television project.
