The US youth would be at a higher risk of violence and bigotry if presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was to win the upcoming elections, his likely Democratic rival Hillary Clinton said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — During his election campaign, business tycoon Trump has made numerous statements which sparked controversy and were seen as divisive both nationwide and globally.

"If you want to imagine what Trump’s America would look like, picture more kids at risk of violence and bigotry," Clinton said Saturday as quoted by The Wall Street Journal.

She also hinted that Trump would incite racial discord.

"He’s talking about more hatred and division in our streets, even about more nuclear weapons in the world," the Democratic frontrunner claimed.

In December 2015, Trump proposed a "total and complete" ban for Muslims entering the United States, as well as an Islamic registration and control of certain mosques. He also accused Muslims of celebrating the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

In announcing his presidential bid on June 16, Trump said illegal immigrants from Mexico bring mostly drugs and crime to the United States, and characterized Mexican immigrants as rapists. He has repeatedly vowed for building of a wall between Mexico and the United States, saying the former would pay for the construction.
