Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roivas refuted on Thursday a report by the Norwegian media portal AldriMer that claimed Russian intelligence services are operating in the country.

TALLINN (Sputnik) – His statement was made in response to claims by the Norwegian media outlet AldriMer on Saturday that it had gained access to secret NATO documents in which the Estonian Internal Security Service (KAPO) reported about Russian intelligence services operating in Estonia. KAPO also allegedly wrote about Russian drones flying over Estonia during the Trident Jaguar NATO drills.

"Are Russian special forces operating in Estonia, which makes us stay awake at night? I can assure that [they] are not," Roivas said.

Although he acknowledged that some of the events described in the report really happened, he said it was an exaggeration to link them to the country’s security. Some other topics, according to the prime minister, are taken from drill plots.

"Some of the topics described in the report published on the Norwegian portal are most likely linked to different [scenarios for] war games rather than real life," Roivas said.
