Special Commission Probes Honduras Police for Links to Organized Crime

A special commission tasked with eliminating corruption within the Honduras National Police says over two dozen police officers have been fired, local media report.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to Rivera, every officer found to be incompetent and dishonest or having links to organized crime in Honduras during investigations that will be conducted over the next 12 months will be fired.

"The process of purification and restructuring of the National Police is permanent," Omar Rivera, a member of the Special Commission told reporters as quoted by La Prensa on Friday.
