WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — An airstrike carried out by the US-led coalition against Daesh has killed Imad Khaled Afer, terrorists’ military advisor for the Iraqi stronghold Mosul, Kurdistan Region Security Council said in a Twitter message on Tuesday.
Afer, also known as Abu Sarya, was a close associate of the Daesh’s spokesman, Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, and controlled the group’s operations in Mosul, according to the Security Council.
The targeted airstrike took place near Mosul’s Salam Hospital.
