UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne published on Monday his tax return data for the 2014-2015 tax year, responding to a call by British Prime Minister David Cameron to do so.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, a spokeswoman for the UK prime minister said he believed that the country’s finance ministers, both of the current and shadow cabinet, should release information about their taxable incomes.

"The Chancellor of the Exchequer had no other sources of income or capital gains, from either the UK or overseas and has no offshore interests in shares or anything else," the summary and explanation of his tax affairs published on the Treasury’s website revealed.

The paper also showed he made a taxable income of 198,738 British pounds (about $282,890) and paid income tax of 72,210 pounds ($102,780).

Both Cameron and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon disclosed their tax details over the weekend.

It comes after Cameron faced pressure from British lawmakers after his father was caught up in the journalist investigation around the Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca, which allegedly helped the rich and powerful evade taxes using offshore companies.
