USAID, Soros Funding Explains Lack of US Banks, Citizens in Panama Leaks
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) The US government has sponsored the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCPR) that was involved in the Panama Papers leak on offshore schemes, US State Department deputy spokesperson Mark Toner said in a press briefing on Thursday.

WikiLeaks said on its Twitter account on Wednesday that the so-called Panama Papers project was produced by OCCRP and was funded by USAID and Soros.

“I think you refer to the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project…They have received a support from various donors including the US government,” Toner said.
