MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The next group of Russian military aircraft departed on Wednesday from Syria’s Hmeimim airbase to return to home bases.
"Yet another group of Russian Aerospace Forces' aircraft left Hmeimim airbase for home bases within Russia's territory."
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the withdrawal of Russia's air group from Syria as they had fulfilled the tasks assigned to them.
"The planes from the Hmeimim Airbase will complete flights to their home airbases within Russia's territory… under along air corridors under the escort of military transport aircraft," the statement reads.
