MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) adopted on Thursday an expanded list of measures to enhance stability and security in the cybershpere, the OSCE said in a statement.
"The expanded list of cyber confidence-building measures stands as a concrete example of how these goals are effectively furthered by the OSCE. Through its engagement in cyber-related activities, the OSCE underlines its capacity for enhancing confidence between States – including and indeed particularly during times of great tension. The German Chairmanship will continue its efforts to advance cyber issues in a broad and cross-cutting approach," the OSCE chairman, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, was quoted as saying in the statement.

According to the OSCE, information and communication technologies have added a complex dimension to inter-state relations in recent years. The OSCE is the only regional security organization that has managed to reach agreement on confidence-building measures in the area of cybersecurity.
Steinmeier named the risks linked to cyberspace among the issues that need to be resolved in Europe back in July, ahead of Germany taking over the rotating chairmanship of the OSCE.
